twenty-five pioneer students of the abs film academy have been issued with certificates in different skills of script writing, cinematographer, broadcast journalism and other ancillary courses.

the ceremony took place yesterday at the abs corporate headquarters in awka.
the film academy with less than six months of existence has three of its short films nominated in an international film festival my rode and reel film competition.
the maiden commencement ceremony attracted who is who in the nigerian movie and film industry, including, pete edochie, bob-manuel udokwu, tony "one week" muonagor, yul edochie, top government functionaries and members of the state house of assembly.
the chairman of the state youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and creative economy council, dr nick okoye announced that the council is already making in-roads to create cinemas in all the local government areas which will become a marketplace for the movie industry in the state.
dr okoye announced that on his part, the nicky okoye entrepreneurship initiative will institute a yearly five hundred thousand naira award to best graduating student of the academy who excelled in entrepreneurship.
others speakers, including the commissioner for youth entrepreneurship and creative economy, mr bonaventure enemali, a member of the board of directors of the anambra broadcasting service, mr marcel manafa, a film and cinema industry executive mr ekene mkparu advised the graduating students to put into practice the knowledge garnered during the training to contribute positively to the society.
some of the graduating students, including emeka muomezie, grace okoli-emmanuel, and judah onyeogu who garnered trainings in directing and acting could not hide their joy for the opportunity granted them through the abs film academy.
