The State House of Assembly has passed a resolution authorizing the Executive Arm of Government to acquire the three point five billion naira concessionary loan

facility from the Central Bank of Nigeria forstrategic projects across the agricultural value chain in Anambra State. 
The House passed the resolution following an Executive motion to that effect moved by the member representing Ogbaru Two Constituency, Sir Somtoochukwu Udeze and seconded by his Ogbaru One Constituency counterpart, Sir Benson Nwawulu during yesterdays plenary.
Moving the motion, Sir Somtoochukwu emphasized that the loan would strengthen the efforts of the State government in the areas of land development, agricultural value chain, green house farming, livestock farming among others.
According to him, the state is prepared to provide irrevocable standing payment order equivalent to the total finance of three billion, five hundred million naira to serve as a repayment guarantee to the Central Bank of Nigeria. 
On his part, the member representing Anambra East Constituency, Chief Obinna Emeneka noted that the loan would be utilized by the indigenes of Anambra and its inhabitants to enhance food production in the state.
The member representing Njikoka One Constituency, Dr. Timothy Ifedioramma who described Governor Willie Obiano as an exceptional economist, maintained that the loan would meet his vision in agriculture.
The Deputy Speaker, Sir Hafford Oseke, described the motion as a welcome development. 
Also at the plenary, the House received the list of nominees from Governor Obiano as members of Judicial Service Commission.
They are: Chief Emeka Sibeudu, Professor Ogugua Ikpeze and Chief Ben Obi.
The list was referred to the House Committee on screening for it to screen the nominees and report back to the House within two weeks.
