The Transition Committee Chairman for Aguata council area of the state, Honourable Eche Ezeibe, has called for a collective efforts and commitment to ensuring a better future and society for children in the country.

The TC Chairman made the call at Ekwulobia Stadium during an occasion to mark this year's Children's day which had its theme as " Creating Safe Space for Children: Our Collective Responsibility".
The event which attracted parents, teachers, pupils and students from nursery, primary and secondary schools around the area was a moment of entertainment and celebration for school children, as well as enlightenment to parents and guardians on how best to train their children and wards so as to produce people that would provide solutions to societal challenges.
Honourable Eche Ezeibe, while describing children as the future hope of any nation, maintained that for Nigeria to secure a prosperous future the citizens must embrace peace and unity, respect individual and tribal differences, and as well show commitment to duties, and called for plans and actions that would help the children discover and harness God's endowed potential in them.
Honourable Ezeibe, urged parents to see the event as a moment for sober reflection on their relationship with their children and to make amend where necessary for the benefits of their families and the society at large.

In a remark, the Education Secretary for the local government, Lady Ngozi Adiorah, commended Governor Willie Obiano, the TC Chairman and other good spirited individuals in the area for their support to education, promising on behalf of teachers in the local government to be more proactive in instilling good moral and qualitative education in the children to help them become great people in life.
On his part, the Traditional Ruler of Ekwulobia Community, Igwe Engineer Emmanuel Onyeneke, who is also the Chairman Aguata Traditional Rulers Council, advised the children to be serious with their studies to make their families and the community proud through academic excellence.
Contributing, the Deputy Chairman for the local government, Mrs Amaka Ifemezie, Education Supervisor for Aguata, Mr. Arinze Ikpegbu, and APGA Chairman from the area, Mr. Obiorah Ezechukwu, rated this year's celebration high, and observed that education system of the state has continued to improve owing to the education friendliness of the present administration, urging the people to secure their permanent voters cards in order to be able to exercise their franchise during the 2019 general election.
