The National President of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Chief Alex Onukwue,

has expressed the preparedness of the Association to join hands with the National Orientation Agency in its campaigns against cultism among students.
He spoke while receiving the State Director of the National Orientation Agency Mr Charles Nwoji who paid him an advocacy visit at the National Secretariat of ASATU at the Government House Awka.
Chief Onukwue, who described ASATU as a link between the government and the people, enumerated some of the impacts already made by the association in the State, especially the zoning formula in the governance of the State among the three senatorial districts.
He stated that the Association has perfected actions to establish data collection centres in the three Senatorial districts to fast track proper policy formulation and implementation in various parts of the State, adding that the Association is working out modalities on how to organize a one day town hall meeting for the people of Anambra Central Senatorial District.
Earlier, the State Director of the National Orientation Agency, Mr Nwoji observed that ASATU as the fourth tier of government in the State has gained prominence and solicited the support of the Association in implementing some of its community re-orientation programmes, especially in the areas of mobilization for the National Orientation Agency activities.
