Youths have been urged to be actively involved in politics to evolve a paradigm shift in the leadership structure of the country.

Speaking on the ABS TV audience participatory programme, “Good Morning Anambra,” on the topic “New Generation of Political Leaders,” a guest, Engineer Tony Aniebue said there is need to set an age limit for elective positions in the county’s electoral system to pave way for new crop of leaders to emerge.
Engineer Aniebue opined that youths should be given opportunity to inject new ideas, administrative skills and energetic approach to governance while politicians who have attained retirement age should exist active politics and take up advisory roles as is presently the trend in developed counties.
He pointed out that at this technological age, there is need for youths who are mostly ICT compliant to take control of governance to bring in innovations and easily key into international best practices.
Engineer Aniebue noted that Governor Willie Obiano is already mentoring youths in basic principles of leadership by appointing them to positions of responsibilities in his government and urged others to emulate him.
