Governor Willie Obiano has inaugurated a 9-member Board of Directors for Golden Tulip Hotels, Agulu. 
Governor Obiano inaugurated the Board at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia. 
The Board whose Chairman is the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has other members including Commissioner for Finance, Mr Ifeatu Onejeme, the Managing Director of ANSIPPA, Chief Joe-Billy Ekwunife, the Chief Executive Officer of Golden Tulip West Africa, Mr Amaechi Ndili, Dr Ifeyinwa Obegolu, Chief Patrick Chidolue, Dr Chike Akunyili, Chief Chriscato Ameke and Mr Stanley Uzochukwu of Stanel world.
It has a 14-point terms of reference which centers majorly on directing the affairs of the hotel consistent with the joint venture agreement between Anambra State Government and the Golden Tulip Company.
Inaugurating the Board, Governor Obiano said the members were carefully selected because government wants to get it right from the start and expressed optimism that they will bring their wealth of experience in business concerns to bear in the administration of the hotel. 
He recalled that the project was started by his predecessor and done 10 percent before his administration inherited it and has at present done up-to 90 percent.
Noting that his government has paid fully for the completion of the interior decoration for the hotel, Governor Obiano urged the Board to immediately hit the ground running to ensure that the Hotel takes off as soon as possible  and when functional, is run in a financially prudent manner to meet the expectations of the State Government. 
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Golden Tulip West Africa, Mr Amaechi Ndili thanked Governor Obiano for his genuine commitment towards seeing the project work and promised that they will work assiduously towards achieving the vision of the present administration in creating a leading hotel facility that will match its drive to make the state an emerging economy in the country. 
According to him, they intend to use the hotel as training ground for young Ndi Anambra to become leading experts in the hospitality industry while securing the State maximum returns for their investment.
In their separate remarks, some members of the Board, Chief Patrick Chidolue and Mr Stanley Uzochukwu while noting that government overtime, has proved inefficient in managing businesses, acknowledged that the present administration is getting it right with its new policy of partnering the private sector in developing the state. 
Formal inauguration of the Board by the governor formed the highpoint of the event.
