Governor Willie Obiano says the January 13th Senatorial election in Anambra marks a date with history for Ndigbo in their quest for inclusion in the country's scheme of affairs.
Governor Obiano was speaking during an Ovala Reception he organized in his country home, Aguleri after receiving the Ebubedike Aguleri title from his community.

Governor Obiano who observed that despite the abundant human resources with which it is blessed, the Igbo nation has not been able to secure a befitting position in the Country, attributed it to the gimmickry of political fragmentation with which Ndigbo have in the past, been set against each other.
Noting that it is time for a positive turn in the political tide for Ndigbo, Governor Obiano harped on the need for Ndigbo to unite under one political platform to pursue their common interest as according to him, several efforts made in the past through violent means to infuse Ndigbo into relevance have utterly failed.
According to him, APGA presents a veritable platform for the political unification of all Ndigbo in their quest for emancipation and all lovers of the race should rally support for Chief Victor Umeh in the upcoming senatorial election to give Ndigbo a strong voice in the National Assembly.
Governor Obiano while thanking all who came to felicitate with him and the entire Aguleri Kingdom on the Ovala celebration, said the new title conferred on him will spur him to continue to pursue programmes and policies that will guarantee improvement on the people's standard of living.
The APGA Candidate for the upcoming Anambra Central Senatorial District rerun election, Chief Umeh observed that the Kingdom marking the 118th Ovala Festival of the Idigo Dynasty, simply portrays Aguleri as an ancient Igbo Kingdom, adding that the Ebubedike title on the governor which is the highest in the Cabinet is well-deserved.
In their separate remarks, the Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory development Authority, ACTDA, Architect Mike Okonkwo, the Managing Director of the State Signage Agency, Chief Jude Emechetta and the President General of the State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Chief Alex Onukwue said what the Aguleri Kingdom has done by honoring the governor a second time, is encouraging excellence and service to humanity.
The reception came to a climax with performances by popular Musician, Chinedu Okoli aka flavor who thrilled the guests to sweet musical tunes.
