People of Njikoka Local Government Area yesterday rolled out their drums to receive Governor Willie Obiano when he led the APGA campaign train for Saturday's Anambra Central Senatorial District Rerun election to the Council Area.
It was a display of massive support for APGA and its candidate for the upcoming senatorial election as party stakeholders, faithful and supporters in the area, led by Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke trouped out in their numbers to receive them.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Governor Obiano said APGA is on the threshold of history and the emergence of its first senator of the Federal Republic will be a major step towards the political unification of Ndigbo.
He thanked Ndi Njikoka for voting massively for him during the November 18th governorship election and urged them to reciprocate same this Saturday to send a strong signal that APGA has come to stay.
In his welcome remarks, the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke noted that Anambra is setting the pace in many positive areas and what it has again done with supporting the Igbo agenda through APGA is highly remarkable, assuring Chief Umeh that Ndi Njikoka are with him.
For his part, the member representing Njikoka, Dunukofia and Anaocha Federal Constituency in the National Assembly observed that although the mandate has been denied for a long time, it is good that the election is coming now to make up for the denials that people of Anambra Central have suffered.
The National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Oye said APGA is now in a new era where God is in control of its destiny, noting that it is not surprising that many notable sons of Igboland are presently identifying with APGA to create a formidable political platform for the Igbo nation.
The APGA Candidate for the election, Chief Victor Umeh expressed delight Ndi Anambra have kept the light lit by the Late Biafran Leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu aglow by upholding APGA and promised that he will not disappoint his people when he gets to the red chambers.
For the member representing Njikoka One constituency in the State Assembly, Dr Timothy Ifedioranma and his Njikoka Two constituency counterpart, Sir Pete Ibida, Governor Obiano's overwhelming victory at the November polls has paved the way for APGA to win any election in Anambra State and ndi Njikoka are ready to repay Chief Victor Umeh for his tenacity in defending the party Ndigbo.
