Governor Willie Obiano has Commissioned a 900-student capacity hostel he built at Christ the King College, CKC, Onitsha.
Government House Correspondent Taeshie Benjamin who was at a holy mass held at the school to mark the event and now reports. 
The event which was also attended by Old Boys and students of the College was also used to the feast of Christ the King. 
Addressing the congregation, Governor Obiano said his government will continue to initiate programmes that will promote the culture of quality academic standards among students. 

According to him, this would help the students achieve excellence in their pursuit of self development.

Governor Obiano further tasked teachers to be dedicated to their duties to ensure that the State remains tops in education in the country, adding that it is only through quality education that government can guarantee a bright future for children of the state. 

Earlier in a homily, the Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha, Most Reverend Valerian Okeke charged christians to humble themselves before God to enable him lift them up, reminding them that God does not abandon those who put their trust in him. 

He further urged Christians to imbibe corporate works of mercy and love for one another as essential attributes of effective christian living.
Governor Obiano who is an Old Boy of CKC, during the mass stood as sole sponsor to all candidates from the College, who were administered with the sacrament of confirmation.
