The Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu, has inaugurated the governing board of the newly created Ogbaru Disciplinary/Traffic Control Agency (ODTCA) with a charge to reconfigure traffic situation in the Council and to clear all obstructions on Ogbaru roads and markets.
The board which has retired Col. Paul Izukanne as its Chairman and Master Warrant Officer Augustine Uzochukwu Olisama (Rtd) as its Managing Director/Superintendent General also has the traditional rulers of Odekpe and Ossomala, HRH Okakwu C. N. Onyia and HRH Okakwu Victor Awogu, as members.
Other members of the board include, Chief Linus Ezenkwu (Nkwubuego), Chief Ray Nnakwe, Hon. Nwanodi Ojini, Hon. Chimezie Osigwe, Chief Obiechina Oraye (Oduah), Chief Ifeanyi Olisa (COC), Mr. Chigozie Enebeli, Chief Dom Ezebuenyi, Mr. Nwafili Emezina (COS/Secretary of the board), Mr. Chukwuebuka Ikenwa (CSO to the Council Chairman), Chief Sunday Ezekude, Mrs. Jane Mbanefo (DPO Atani) and Mr. Okeke Ejikeme (CDC Ogbaru).
The governing board is to see to the general supervision of the welfare and conduct of the officers of the Ogbaru Disciplinary/Traffic Control Agency (ODTCA). The Council Chairman took time to explained the reason for constituting a governing board for the agency and said that the independence of the board is full and total.
The commissioning of the agency is fixed for Thursday, 6th of September, 2018. All are enjoined to be part of the ceremony which starts by 10.00am at the Council Secretariat, Atani.
Furthermore, following the need to help protect and advance government economic and sundry interests, Ogbaru local government under the visionary leadership of Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu created Ogbaru Disciplinary/Traffic Control Agency (ODTCA) to help in enforcing compliance on sanitation, traffic control, clearing of obstructions on the road and in the markets,  protection of local government facilities and such other roles that may be required. Before now, such outfit exists in other local government areas of the state except Ogbaru local government.
Responding on behalf of the board members, Col. Paul Izukanne Rtd, thanked the Council Chairman for his noble thoughts in setting up such timely agency and for finding members of the board worthy to serve the government, he assured that discipline will be the watchword of the agency and that the traffic gridlock withnessed at Ogbahu Junction (formerly Uga Junction), Obodoukwu Junction, Idemili market, Afia Eze, Obodoukwu by Ede road and such other places will be cleared with immediate effect. He also called on members of the public to support the agency to serve the purpose for which it was created.
The Council Chairman and members of the governing board later inspected a guard of honour mounted by officers of Ogbaru Disciplinary/Traffic Control Agency.
