Muslims in the state have joined their counterparts the world over to celebrate Eid-El-Filtri.

Eid-El- Filtr is an Islamic day of obligation which Marks the end of Ramadan fast.
At the Amawbia prayer ground, Muslim faithful including men and women, youths as well as children were gorgeously adorned with different attires, while petty traders who deal in Islamic items such as books, music, prayer mats & clothes engaged in serious businesses.
Speaking to the ABS, the leader of the Hausa Community in Awka Alhaji Garuba Haruna urged Muslim faithful to use the celebration to pray for the peace and unity of the country as well as imbibe all the teachings of Allah in their lives.
Alhaji Haruna commended Governor Willie Obiano for his humane disposition and welfare towards Muslim faithful in Anambra State and prayed that the almighty Allah will continue to bless him and the people of Anambra state.
For the Special Assistant to the Governor on Muslim Affairs, Alhaji Musa Bello, the feast is a unique one for them, even as he prayed for religious tolerance among Nigerians for a greater and peaceful society.
On his part, the Secretary General, Anambra State Muslim Council, Alhaji Sanni Ejoh who implored Muslim faithful not to allow the allures of the world to distance them from the path of righteousness, self sacrifice and love for humanity.
Alhaji Ejoh praised Governor Obiano for his developmental strides in the state as well as his all inclusive governance and prayed Allah to grant him more wisdom to continue to pilot the affairs of the state.
