The Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works has asked the contracting Firm handling the construction of Ezira-Umuomaku-Enugwu- Umuonyia-Achina road to expedite action on the project.

The committee gave the directive when it inspected the ongoing road project as part of its oversight responsibilities.
Inspecting the twelve kilometer road, the committee observed that the contracting firm has asphalted up to one point five kilometers, while the bridge connecting Umuomaku and Ezira is at pilling stage.
The Committee however identified pit falls in the drains already constructed by the firm which they accepted to address when the asphalting stage of the project must have been completed.
In an interview, the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Ikechukwu Umeh assured that they would assist them in getting all they need from government to finish the project on schedule.
On his parts the project consultant, Mr. Obi Akutaekwe gave an assurance that the project would be completed on schedule and would stand the text of time.
The Committee also inspected an internal road at Anambra State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu and the drains where it commended the contracting firm for working according to specifications.
Two members of the committee, Dr. Timothy Ifedioramma representing Njikoka One Constituency and the member for Nnewi South one Constituency, Mr. Kingsley Iruba explained that the essence of the exercise was to prevent contracting firms constructing roads across the state from doing shoddy jobs.
