Indigent women numbering over twenty from Mbaukwu in Awka South Local government have been empowered with non interest loans by the Ochiora Two Foundation.

The free interest loan which is a programme of Chief Mrs Gertrude Ebede was aimed at assisting the indigent women and widows in the community to become self reliant.
The event attracted mammoth crowd, and stakeholders in the community and was the third in its series.
The Chairman on the occasion, Chief Ben-Collins Obi who described the programme as a way of improving the status of the community, commended the Think home Philosophy of Chief and Mrs Ebede, praying God to reward them abundantly.
Chief Obi admonished the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds in addition to abiding by the rules of the initiative.
Contributing, the wife of the Traditional ruler of Mbaukwu, Lolo Vivian Anugwu, while thanking the benefactors for the initiative, enjoined the beneficiaries to reciprocate the good work of Chief and Mrs Ebede by being resourceful in order to make the programme a success in the community.
Expressing her appreciation, one of the past beneficiaries of the loan scheme, Mrs Joy Okafor, expressed gratitude to the donors for their benevolence and testified how the loan has changed her family status.
The Coordinator of the scheme, Mr Chris Adike, explained that the loan is for indigent women in the community who applied, as it targets to improve the lives of women and children in the community.
Some of the beneficiaries, expressed joy and gratitude to the philanthropists, affirming that it will, no doubt help in improving their businesses.
Highpoints were presentation of certificates to persons who have distinguished themselves in various areas of human endeavour and handover of the loan authority to the beneficiaries.
