Governor Willie Obiano says his administration has the sincerity of purpose to transform all sectors of the State economy in the coming years.

Governor Obiano gave the assurance during the Dr. Emmanuel Egbogah Budget Round table, organized by the Unizik Business School.
Speaking through the Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke, the Governor who lamented the increasing insincerity of leaders in today's society , pointed out the importance of laying the right foundation, as according to him, legacy counts at last.
Governor Obiano who explained why many roads are being constructed in the northern part of the State ,pointed out that the area has remained agrarian and one of agricultural hubs of the State and identified human development as very important in budget implementation.
Earlier, a guest speaker who is also a public affairs analyst, Dr Okey Ikechukwu, decried the amount of actual money spent on budgets, pointing out that the political economy of the Nation is designed to undermine a particular segment of the country and favor the others.
While noting that the 1914 amalgamation of the protectorates has adverse effects and consequences today, evident in the dearth of infrastructure in some regions of the country, Dr Ikechukwu wondered why the people, on whom the budgetary allocation is spent, keep getting poorer, describing it as violation of the budget.
He stressed that the Igbos are the most self disenfranchised society in the Nation, and urged them to arm themselves with their Permanent Voters Cards to enable them take part in determining their future, adding that strategy is key to monumental development.
