The State Government in partnership with the World Bank has donated twenty-one motorcycles to the Ministry of Power and Domestic Water Development, in Awka, for its services.

According to the Director, Water Resources in the Ministry, Mr Emmanuel Igwebuike the new motorcycles were provided to aid the urban water officers for efficient service delivery.
He added that the motorcycles will enable them to supervise the ongoing third National Urban Water Sector Reform Project in the State.
Mr Igwebuike also said that the World Bank assisted projects were capacity-building projects meant to empower the urban water officers to carry out their respective duties.
He commended Governor Willie Obiano's high level commitment to the payment of the States counterpart fund which he noted had gone a long way in attracting the assistance of international donors.
The Director urged the urban water officers to utilize the motorcycles effectively to achieve the purpose for which the facilities were provided.
