Anambra State Government has disbursed about twenty-five million naira to victims of last year’s windstorm in Igboezunu Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area.

The incident which occurred on March 22, 2017 destroyed not less than ninety houses and some economic trees in the area.
The fund was given to the victims according to the level of damage they suffered.
The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Emergency Management Agency, ANSEMA, Chief Paul Odenigbo who presented the chegues to the victims, represented by Mr. Chukwudi Onyekwe, said that Governor Willie Obiano sent the money to alleviate the victims’ plight as much as possible.
The first indigenous Bishop from the community, Right Reverend Paul Amaechi Udogu commended the Governor on behalf of the community for the assistance rendered to them.
The Vicar, Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Igboezunu, Reverend C. Ogbalu whose church was also affected said their happiness could not be measured, praying God to bless the Governor.
Another beneficiary, Mrs Cecilia Onyeibo, who received about two hundred thousand naira, thanked the Governor and prayed for God’s guidance upon the Governor and the entire state
