The State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging Governor Willie Obiano to direct the Commissioner for Road Construction,


Maintenance and Furniture to rehabilitate the bad portion of Aguluezechukwu-Ogboji- Ndiokpalaeze-Akpo-Ajali road to avoid casualties.
The motion which emanated as matter of urgent public importance was sponsored by the member representing Orumba North Constituency, Chief Romanus Obi during plenary.
The Lawmaker emphasized that the failed portion of the road at Ndiokpalaeze where there is gully erosion would soon cut into two and render the area impassable if urgent steps are not taken to remedy the situation.
On his part, the member representing Aguata Constituency One, Chief Ikechukwu Umeh, urged the Commissioner to fix the road now as it will get worse when the rains set in if it is unattended.
The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism, Barrister Kingsley Iruba added that ever since the area became bad, the people find it difficult to access their communities, while Chief Ikem Uzoezie representing Aguata Two Constituency and his Orumba South Counterpart, Princess Nikky Ugochukwu described the area as part of the food basket of the state that requires urgent rehabilitation to avoid economic loss.
Speaker of the House, Barrister Rita Maduagwu called on the Ministry to rise to the occasion by rehabilitating the failed portion of the road.
