The State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging Governor Willie Obiano to direct the ministry of Environment,

Beautification and Ecology to checkmate the erosion menace of Ihitenasa road by Ibekwe Street in Iyiowa Odekpe, Ogbaru Local Government Area.
The House passed the resolution following a motion sponsored to that effects by the member representing Ogbaru Two constituency, Sir Somtoochukwu Udeze and others during plenary.
Sponsoring the motion, Sir Somtoochukwu emphasized that the erosion menace is a major threat to the lives and properties of the individuals living in the area as it has continued to encroach on the road and could get worse during rainy season, if urgent steps were not taken.
On his part, the member representing Nnewi South Constituency One, Mr. Kingsley Iruba added that if the erosion site is attended to urgently, it will do the inhabitants of the area a lot of good as it would put their minds to rest, just as the Speaker, Barrister Rita Maduagwu expressed optimism that the Executive Arm of Government would rehabilitate the erosion site and read out the resolution of the House.
In supporting motion for the adjournment earlier moved by the Majority leader, Honourable Pascal Agbodike, the Minority leader and member representing Ekwusigo Constituency, Honourable Onyebuchi Offor, appealed to the Commissioner for Road Construction, Maintenance and Furniture to rehabilitate the bad portion of Nkwo to Nkwo road at Ichi junction as it is impassable.
