The Federal Government has been called upon to address the ravaging poverty and hunger across the country in addition to bringing to an end the Fulani Herdsmen farmers' clashes as well as Boko Haram insurgents.

The call was made at All Saints Cathedral Onitsha by the President of Christian Council of Nigeria, Reverend Dr. Benebo Fubara-Manuel, during a standing Committee Meeting of the Council to address some salient issues of National concern and proffer solutions.
He lamented the wanton destruction of lives and property, and abductions of School girls, regretting that government forces are not addressing the issues with the seriousness it deserve.
He said in as much as Christians recognize Islamic religion and relate with them, the fundamentalists who want to forcefully Islamize Nigeria will be vehemently resisted.
The President of the Christian Council of Nigeria called for the inclusiveness of every region for solution, as well as listen to the church in order to move the country forward.
In an address, the Bishop on the Niger, Right Reverend Owen Nwokolo, who is also the Chairman Anambra State Chapter of Christian Council of Nigeria, called on every denomination to re-examine herself and work towards winning souls for Christ in addition to preaching the gospel of peace and true reconciliation.
On the issue of stolen mace at the National Assembly, Bishop Nwokolo blamed it on security lapses in the country.
