The State Police Command says it has recovered more than one hundred prohibited fire arms from the public in line with the ongoing mop up exercise across the country.

Amongst the recovered fire arms include fifty nine pump action, forty six locally made pistols and one browning pistol. 
The Commissioner of Police, Mr Garba Umar who disclosed this in a Media briefing at the Command Headquarters, Amawbia stated that prohibited fire arms are those which cannot be licensed without the absolute accent of the President.
He therefore urged members of the public to cooperate with the police in this ongoing exercise to achieve better results.
On the resurgence of crisis between Umueri and Aguleri communities in Anambra East Local Government Area, Mr Umar explained that the police has already intervened and assured that peace will soon be restored to the communities.
