The State Government will in the next two weeks commence the reconstruction of the staircase at the Owerre-Ezukalla Caves and Water Falls.

The Commissioner for Indigenous Art Works, Diaspora Affairs, Culture and Tourism, Mrs Sally Mbanefo, announced this at Owerre-Ezukalla, Orumba South Council Area during her first official tour of the Site.
Commissioner Mbanefo who was overwhelmed by the tourism potentials of the area, stated that the State Government is now out to invest and harness the huge revenue accruable to the tourism industry.
According to her, the project will be completed before the one hundred days of the Governor Willie Obiano's second term in office while restating that all tourism sites in the state will be opened up to the international community.
Earlier on her arrival, the Culture and Tourism Commissioner who was accompanied by senior staff of the Ministry including the Permanent Secretary, Dr Louisa Ezeanya, paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Thomas Ogbonnaya.
Receiving the guests, the Traditional ruler, Igwe Ogbonnaya said the visit will bring succor to the community and provide job opportunities to its numerous youths.
On his part, the Traditional Prime Minister of the community who also was the tour guide, Sir Evans Ihesi, explained that the community is filled with different potentials and asked the State Government to upgrade the Ogba Ukwu Festival as a major tourist attraction to the State.
