The State Government has presented certificate of recognition to the traditional
ruler of Ojoto in Idemili South Council Area, Igwe Gerald Mbamalu.

Presenting the certificate, Governor Obiano explained that the state government had to wade into the matter to ensure transparency in the process, reminding the new Igwe that the certificate is to be used to unite Ojoto people.
Governor Obiano urged Igwe Mbamalu to operate an open system of administration and accomodate all Ojoto people, as he is now the leader of all the people.
The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Town Union Matters, Mr Greg Obi who noted that the State Government had set up a high-powered panel of enquiry to look into the Ojoto Igweship crisis, commended governor Obiano for wisdom in carefully resolving leadership crisis in communities across the state.
In an admonition, the traditional ruler of Ukwulu, Igwe Peter Uyanwa urged the new traditional ruler to utilize the certificate to oppress those who did not support him but to be a father to all.
Responding, Igwe Mbamalu thanked the state government for recognizing him and promised that Ojoto community will not trouble the State government.
